About the Conference: An AI Ethics Conference on the Future of Society
The International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Society takes place in Paris, France, on 26–28 March 2027. It is an AI ethics conference for researchers who want to understand not only what artificial intelligence can do, but what it should do, who it serves and who carries its risks.
AI systems are moving from research laboratories into courts, hospitals, classrooms, workplaces and government offices. Decisions that once belonged to people are now shared with models that are difficult to inspect and easy to scale. Regulation is developing quickly, and public trust is uneven. These changes raise questions that no single discipline can answer. The conference exists to bring those disciplines into one room and to give careful, evidence-based research the attention it deserves.
As a responsible AI conference, it welcomes work that moves beyond principles to practice: how fairness is measured, how accountability is assigned, how transparency is achieved and how affected communities are included in design and oversight. As an AI safety conference with a social focus, it also welcomes research on risk, harm, evaluation and the institutional safeguards that help societies use powerful systems with confidence.

Mission
To bring researchers from different disciplines together to share, debate and publish rigorous research on AI and society.
Vision
A future in which artificial intelligence is developed and governed in ways that strengthen fairness, safety and human wellbeing.
Who Should Attend
- Researchers and academics in computer science, law, the social sciences, philosophy, economics, health and the humanities.
- Educators and practitioners who design, deploy, evaluate or teach about AI systems.
- Doctoral and postgraduate students who want feedback on developing research.
- Policymakers and public-sector specialists working on AI regulation, procurement and oversight.
- Industry professionals in responsible AI, trust and safety, compliance and data governance.
- Listeners who want to follow current research without presenting a paper.
Academic Scope
The conference offers broad, international and interdisciplinary coverage of artificial intelligence: its foundations, applications, governance, human impacts and societal futures. Theoretical, empirical, comparative and applied studies are all in scope, as are case studies and policy analyses grounded in evidence. Papers that bring several disciplines together are especially welcome, for example a legal analysis informed by a technical audit, or a study of public attitudes that shapes the design of an oversight process. What matters most is a clear research question and a method that can answer it.

Review Quality and Research Ethics
Every submission is assessed through double-blind peer review, so reviewers and authors do not know each other's identity. Reviewers use transparent criteria: relevance to the conference scope, originality, clarity of the research question, soundness of the method and the strength of the conclusions. Submissions are screened for similarity with iThenticate, and authors are asked to disclose any generative AI used to improve the language of their text, in line with the conference's author policy.
Research involving human participants or personal data should have appropriate ethical approval and consent. Because this conference studies technologies that can reproduce bias, the review process also values research that is open about its limitations and the communities it affects.
The conference is open to researchers from every country, career stage and academic tradition, and welcomes work from institutions and regions that are often under-represented in debates about AI.
