Mode of Presentation

You can present your research in person as an oral or poster presentation, or live online as a virtual presentation. Presenters submit their work for review first and register after acceptance. Read the Author Guidelines before you submit.

Presentation Time

Presentations normally allow 15 minutes per presentation. This applies to oral and live virtual presentations. Your exact slot and Q&A arrangements will be included in your presenter instructions.

The Programme

The programme depends on accepted and registered presentations. Registered participants receive it by email when it is ready.

Oral Presentations

How it works

You present your research in person at the venue in Paris, normally with slides. Your presentation fits within the 15-minute allocation. Q&A arrangements are included in your presenter instructions.

Essential preparation checklist

  • Rehearse your presentation so it fits within your assigned time.
  • Check that your slides, videos and links work.
  • Bring a backup copy of your presentation, for example on a USB drive.
  • Name your file with your family name and, once you know it, your session.
  • Follow the arrival and slide instructions in your presenter email.

Slide and delivery advice

  • Use readable fonts and limited text. Your audience can listen or read, but rarely both.
  • Choose figures and charts with a purpose. Each visual should support one point.
  • Keep good contrast. Slides must stay readable in a bright room.
  • Follow a clear sequence: context, method, findings, conclusion.
  • Explain specialist terms. The audience comes from many disciplines, from law to computer science.
  • Rehearse aloud. It is the most reliable way to stay within time.

Equipment and technical assistance

Details of the equipment available in the room and file requirements are included in your presenter instructions. If you have special requirements, contact us in advance and wait for our confirmation.

Practical notes

Keep a backup of your presentation with you. Slides are sent following the instructions in your presenter email — not through the submission update form.

Poster Presentations

How it works

You display your research as a poster at the venue in Paris. During your assigned poster period, stand by your poster to explain your work and answer questions from attendees.

Poster specifications

Poster presenters will receive the poster size, orientation and display instructions by email.

Printing and delivery

Printing, delivery, mounting and collection instructions are included in your poster presenter email.

Design advice

  • Use a clear title, and include author names and affiliations.
  • State your research question or objective clearly.
  • Summarise methods, findings and conclusion concisely.
  • Use visuals that explain the results.
  • Choose text sizes that can be read from a distance.
  • Include key references where appropriate.
  • Ask a colleague to read your poster before printing.

Attendance and changes

Be at your poster during your assigned poster period. If you can no longer attend in person, contact us about switching to virtual participation. A switch is not automatic and follows the Terms & Conditions.

Virtual Presentations

How it works

You present your research live online and share your presentation with the session. The academic journey is the same as for in-person presenters: submit, receive your review decision, and register after acceptance.

Timing and joining instructions

Virtual presentations are allocated 15 minutes. Your session time in Paris time, Q&A arrangements and private joining details are sent to you by email after registration. Please join early, as instructed in that email.

Technical checklist

  • Use a reliable internet connection, wired if possible.
  • Test your microphone and camera before the session.
  • Test screen sharing with your slides and any media.
  • Choose a quiet place with good lighting.
  • Close notifications and other applications.
  • Follow the technical instructions and support contact in your joining email.

Documents and publication

Virtual presenters receive their certificate under the same registration rules as other participants. Publication follows the conditions on the Publication page: accepted abstracts of registered participants appear in the Abstract Book, and full papers that pass double-blind review can be published in the Proceedings.
